Composition Work

Composing an Orchestral Track

I was asked to compose a simple orchestral track for a YouTube video that my friend was making.

The video was going to be a recording of Grand Theft Auto V game play and needed to be Star Wars themed.

He sent me a couple of reference tracks which he used in older videos, which were royalty free, one of which I tried to base my track around (click here for reference track).

I was told the track should be between 2 and 3 minutes long so I set myself the goal of going for the middle ground of 2:30, which was very close to the end result of 2:22.

Overall, I feel the track was a success and I met the criteria my client was asking for, although my communication with my client was not too great as I started off by giving samples of what I had done to him as I went, which slowly decreased over time until near the end of the project. I have sent the track off to him and he said he was very pleased with it and will see if it will fit in the video he is making.
